Our MSD Train-The-Trainer (TTT) Programs are designed to help internal personnel (who are responsible for disseminating information to learners); transfer specific knowledge in an: effective, meaningful, and memorable way. Train-The-Trainer programs, teach internal leaders/trainers the skills they need (and the in-depth knowledge and confidence necessary), for them to feel confident with the topics of Ergonomics and MSD Injury Prevention. They then learn how to educate and train others on the subject. Our programs are designed for: new or experienced supervisors, human resource professionals, safety and training managers, and others who conduct the classes or give instruction to subordinates or fellow employees.
There is a lot to be said for having (or creating) a completely sustainable, in-house training program, however it is often difficult and expensive to achieve that goal, especially when it comes to MSD Injury Prevention. For most employees, the information delivered and the suggested behavioral modifications which are asked of them are personal decisions or choices. This makes much of the information (and the discussion surrounding it), personal for most employees.
It is quite different to teach someone a process, such as lock-out-tag-out, as it is to talk to a group of employees about changing their behaviors. Just try and suggest to someone you know what they should eat or drink, or even better what they “shouldn’t” eat or drink. How far would you get? Information being presented by anyone other than a qualified MSD specialist may hamper the necessary buy-in and support we are trying to create, during the training, or for the entire MSD Prevention Program. The knowledge delivered may not translate as easily into sufficient levels of behavioral and/or postural change, or prevention-based actions. We all want the desired outcome: to achieve the most amount of reduced potential injuries, as possible!
Our Train-The-Trainer process provides your own internal leaders and future trainers, with the information and confidence they will need for the task at hand. Our instructors deliver modules from GET and IPA Training Classes and then trainers are taught the best approach and delivery method in order for them to achieve positive results. Employees trust and engage with instructors and feel more comfortable sharing as well as adapting to the suggestions for change.
Support
- Once the TTT training has been completed, we have your trainers attend a class we present at your location and then they help to teach one or two classes with the support of our instructors.
- Support is given until trainers are confident and knowledgeable enough to teach their own classes.
- Instructor PowerPoint’s and DVD’s are available.
- Written training materials are available in Basic and Advanced formats.
Features & Benefits
- If you already have a staff that is qualified to perform training, we will help them get up to speed relatively quickly.
- The specific features of our Train-The-Trainer program may vary depending on the participants and the scope of their training responsibilities. Generally trainers learn the skills necessary to successfully impart information to learners and learn how to teach and how to conduct effective training sessions, themselves.
- Programs are designed and customized to suit your company’s: structure, resources, specific tasks, abilities, and needs.
- Trainers are taught how to explain the rationale behind their content and how to include practical exercises which are realistic.
- By continuing to support and develop your trainers, they receive a renewed sense of confidence in their presentation skills and a greater appreciation for their careers.
- Completing a Train-The-Trainer program benefits participants in several ways. They learn how to adopt their individual training style to that of the adult learners they work with. As a result, trainers are able to deliver content more effectively.
- Trainers learn the importance of pacing sessions so that learners do not get bored, or overwhelmed. Active listening techniques are also taught and trainers learn how to increase participation so that they do not spend too much time “lecturing” during a training session. By developing these skills, trainers increase their confidence, thus helping them to become successful teachers and leaders of your workforce.
